I'm 14, turning 15 in 4 months. I'm also graduating from year 9 at the same time I turn 15. My parents has been trying to convince me to enter college right after I graduate year 9. My dad didn't finish his high school and went straight to college at the age of 15 and he wants me to do the same. Mind you though, I'd like to think that both my parents are very successful. I'm nervous, as I am a shy one, and don't really fit in well. Idk if I can catch up there. I also am not the ones that do really well in tests and exams. Is going to college at 15 the right choice?

If you are not comfortable with it, then it's the wrong choice for you.

Also, at 15 years of age, you will be surrounded by people older than you. That shouldn't be a problem provided you are emotionally mature enough. Are you? If you're not mature enough, then going to college at age 15 is the wrong choice for you.

There's quite a lot of academic material (between year 9 and year 12) that you'll be skipping over. Are you sufficiently prepared academically?

You need to discuss your concerns with your parents. They may be brilliant, and you may be brilliant, too. But just because it worked out for them, doesn't mean that it's the right choice for you. Think about this and discuss the issues with your parents.
